Locals here thrive mainly on fishing and farming. Although the main road in San Jose is paved, the streets outside the town proper are bumpy. There is no jeep or tricycle in the island; motorcycles are the main vehicles for getting around. Electricity runs from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM and 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM only.
